Akshay Kumar pips SRK as top taxpayer

Posted by Mohan Desai On 4:43 PM 0 comments
Not only did the top ten earners pay 17.7% more by way of taxes than in the previous year, but the industry has thrown up a new ‘Hero No 1′. Akshay Kumar, who paid a whopping Rs 31 crore to the I-T department, narrowly pipped Shah Rukh Khan (Rs 30.99 crore) to the title of Bollywood’s highest taxpayer of 2008-09. The top ten Bollywood stars together paid Rs 107 crore as taxes while the same set had paid Rs 90.90 crore in 2007-08 when the economy was booming. The other two Khans - Salman and Saif Ali - were at number three and four, having paid Rs 14 crore and Rs 8.6 crore respectively.
As far as taxes go, Bollywood’s Jodi No 1 was Saif Ali and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. Kareena was placed at No 7 with a deposit of Rs 3.7 crore in the tax kitty. The duo clearly beat the Bachchans - Abhishek and Aishwarya - who stood at No 8 and No 6 respectively. Surprisingly, yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna continues to be among Bollywood’s big tax payers, coming in at No 5 after paying Rs 6.87 crore - ahead of the Big B (Rs 1.25 crore), who slipped to the 10th rank from No 7 last year. Khanna had paid Rs 11.90 crore last year, the third highest after his son-in-law Akshay Kumar (No 2) and SRK (No 1). The details of Khanna’s business operations were not available. While SRK had paid Rs 31.50 crore, Akshay trailed behind him with a deposit of Rs 12.50 crore.
At No 9 this year is singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya, who paid taxes to the tune of Rs 3 crore. Notable among those missing from the top 10 list is Salman Khan’s current flame and industry favourite Katrina Kaif. Aishwarya Rai, on the other hand, has improved her ranking from No 9 last year to No 6. Both Kareena’s rise (No 10 last year) and Aishwarya’s have been at the cost of theBig B and son Abhishek. Last year, Abhishek was placed at No 5.

Asin denies having affair with Salman Khan

Bollywood actress Asin Thottumkal has denied having any sort of romantic inclination towards Salman Khan. The Ghajini star added that Salman Khan was her co-star in London Dreams and their relationship was very professional. On the news doing rounds that her bedroom is full of Salman’s posters Asin replied that nobody had access to her bedroom and these news reports are baseless.Rumours started doing the rounds of the tinsel town about Salman’s linkup with Asin after the two were often seen mingling around on the sets of London Dreams. Salman Khan would be protective about the southern stars as she was new to Bollywood. Well Asin is the surely the most talked about girl in Bollywood and the most eligible bachelor definitely has reasons to be attracted towards her. After all Salman is 43 and his girl Katrina Kaif seems in no mood to tie the knot with him.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to cricketer Sourav Ganguly and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi - they all love their daughters and say the girl child is precious. They are urging parents not to see daughters as a bane but bring them up with care and make them independent.
“Not everybody is blessed with a daughter; only lucky people are blessed with this bundle of joy. Every daughter is a ‘laadli’ (adorable) and she is very special,” said
Shah Rukh
, who dotes on his eight-year-old daughter Suhana.
Even Sourav, the captain of
Shah Rukh
’s Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), says he shares the most beautiful moments of his life with his daughter Sana.
“Everybody questions me about my most memorable moment - is it making a century in my Test debut or winning a series in England or getting into the world cup finals? But the most memorable time is the time that I spend playing hide and seek with my seven-year-old daughter,” said Ganguly.
“Her smile is priceless - no trophy and no award come closer to matching it,” he added.
The two share their views about their daughters in a press statement released on the sidelines of Laadli Week, starting Monday.
‘Laadli Week’ - is a joint initiative by entertainment channel STAR Plus and KC Mahindra Educational Trust. Under this programme, they will educate 600 underprivileged young girls in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.
These girls are a part of Project Nanhi Kali, an initiative by the KC Mahindra Educational Trust.
Starting this year, Laadli Week would be an annual affair.
“We have always stood for the empowerment of women and our women viewers have endorsed it by making it one of the leading Hindi entertainment channel in India,” said Anupam Vasudev, executive vice president, marketing, STAR Plus.
“Our show ‘Sabki Laadli Bebo’ is a tribute to the families of today who respect, adore and educate their daughters and this is now translating into the tie-up with Project Nanhi Kali to educate a larger number of girls in India and also involve and educate audiences through the medium of the ‘Laadli Week’. We will support approximately 600 Nanhi Kali’s in the first year,” he added.
The channel will raise fund for these girls through various contests on its show.
According to 17-year-old Shivshakti, the lead actress of ‘Sabki Laadli Bebo’, the effort to educate young girls is “very nice” and says she too wants to contribute to it in her own little ways.
“I think it is a very nice thought to teach so many girls. I myself like studying a lot and I feel the least education one needs to have is graduation. I will be very happy if I can teach them something and contribute some money towards their education,” Shivshakti, who recently appeared for her Class 10 board examinations, told us over phone from Mumbai.
Even India’s first woman IPS officer is for the cause and says it is the parent’s responsibility to educate their child.
“I was my parent’s ‘laadli’. It’s because of my parent’s upbringing that I am what I am today. It entirely depends upon the parents on how they bring up their girl child, educate them, make them financially self-reliant and get them the self respect they deserve.
“The number of girl children in India is decreasing. And this is not happening because of poverty, but mentality. If you think that girls are weak, it’s not their fault - its their parents’ upbringing which is weak,” she said.
In a message to parents, Bedi said: “Had my parents been weak, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Their thinking was strong and therefore I grew up to be a strong individual. You can also do the same.
“Bring up your girl child with care, make herself reliant - self reliance will come with education and self reliance is power. If you do this, your girl children will respect you more and will care for you for life. Make your faith in your girl child strong.”

Who could have thought that Hrithik Roshan , the pin-up hunk of
Bollywood, would be asked to reduce his waistline for a commercial?
This is reportedly what happened when the ad makers of a clothing line
which Hrithik endorses wanted the superstar to look his best for an
upcoming commercial that's aimed at the youth.

The superstar was asked to get leaner by a few inches and even shed
the muscular look which he has been sporting for his home production
Kites .

Reports say Hrithik's dad Rakesh Roshan was not in favour of his son
losing any of his brawns, particularly because a slimmer look would
not have suited Hrithik's character in the upcoming Sanjay Leela
Bhansali film which the actor is set to shoot.

But Hrithik, the professional that he is, decided to shed weight and
reduced his waist from 30 inches to 28 inches for the shoot.

Well, that could match a few female hourglasses. Read More......

Not at Mannat, says Aamir

Posted by Mohan Desai On 4:14 PM 0 comments

Has the Bollywood producers and distributors’ stand-off with the multiplexes over a 50:50 profit sharing broken the ice between Shah Rukh Khan and

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan More PicsAamir Khan? No, they only came together for this cause, and BT has learned that the personal differences between the Bollywood Khans is far from over. It was Aamir who after his meetings with the multiplex representatives, took it upon himself to involve the other A-list actors. “He sent an SMS to Shah Rukh, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan,” said a United Producers and Distributors Association Forum member. Akshay, Salman and Saif replied that they were busy with their shoots, but would go along with whatever Aamir thought best for the industry; Hrithik didn’t respond at all; and, Shah Rukh was graceful enough to lend his support. The Bollywood Badshahalso invited Aamir to his home, Mannat. “The principled man that he is, Aamir is reported to have told Shah Rukh that since they have a few unresolved personal issues, he would not go to Mannat. ‘And let’s not meet at my home, either, let’s meet on neutral ground,’ Aamir is said to have added. And that is why meetings were held at Karan Johar’s Union Park residence for two nights in a row,’’ said the source. When they met at Karan’s house, SRK and Aamir got so involved with the multiplex issue, that they left their differences aside. “Shah Rukh was happy to let Aamir lead because he knew Aamir had already had a few meetings, and was more updated on the issue,’’ said the source. Ronnie Screwvala, SiddharthRoy Kapur, Mukesh Bhatt, Priti Shahani and Karan Johar witnessed the crackling chemistry between Bollywood’s two super-giants. “SRK, who is blessed with the gift of the gab, was truly a treat to hear,’’ said one of those present at this high-power summit. While digging into pastries that were served, Shah Rukh commented, “With Aamir around, I have to eat something extra sweet.’’ At which Aamir laughed. Next, when Aamir went to find a toilet and came back (thrice) complaining to Karan that all the toilets were occupied, Shah Rukh teased him saying, “Arre, what’s with you? Do you want to pee in every toilet in Karan’s house?’’ SRK then asked Aamir for some personal advice on how to quit smoking. “How did you manage to give up,’’ he asked Aamir. “I’m trying real hard but I haven’t succeeded.’’

Shahid books cafe for Priyanka

After a heart-break with Kareena, Shahid Kapoor seems to be extra-careful with his new-found love Priyanka Chopra. Every time Piggy Chops hangs out with Shahid, he seems to be on pins throughout-taking all efforts to make her feel comfortable. CHECK OUT: KAMINEY is far removed from what I have ever doneThe young twosome was recently spotted at a suburban cafe totally engrossed in each other. According to sources, to ensure that no one disturbs them and that Priyanka does not have to face any embarrassing situation (read, lenses of journos), Shahid booked the entire upper floor of the cafe. ''Shahid always wants to ensure that their hang-outs don't become Page 3 scoops. He is more worried about Priyanka's reputation than his,'' adds sources close to Shahid.

I needed a break, Aamir on holiday without wife

Posted by Mohan Desai On 4:14 PM 0 comments
Aamir Khan today announced that he has gone on a holiday now with his two children but minus his wife Kiran as she is busy working on her first film as a director Dhobi Ghaat. For these two months he will most of the times stay away from blogging. He writes to his blog fans, “I’m going to go off the map for the next two months folks. I think I needed a break in any case, as I was kind of not really there last couple months, if you know what I mean. So I will see you now in June. Or end May. Unless I start turkeying in which case I’ll drop a line. And once I"m back rested from my holiday I'll be much more connected. ”Aamir has been an active participant of inspiring our countrymen to go out and vote. Speaking in this regards he requests, “Remember to vote, and make an informed choice. Check out all the candidates from your area before you decide who to vote for. ” Talking about the multiplex owners v/s producers issue Aamir states, “Also, you probably have heard by now that all film producers and distributors have decided not to release any films in any Indian national multiplex chains until we get fair terms, and they stop bullying us, and they stop all irregularities. So please bear with us. ”

Now it can be told. The talented director of Aamir, Rajkumar Gupta's next film entitled No One Killed Jessica is actually based on the sensational Jessica Lal case. The model was gunned down in a restaurant on April 29, 1999. The director whose edgy hard-hitting drama Aamir swept the nation in 2008 intends to give the same gritty treatment to the Jessica Lal case which rocked the nation. Reluctant to shed light on the project, Gupta says, "I did approach Kareena Kapoor initially to play one of the two protagonists. But nothing more can be said about the casting right now. All I can say at this moment is that the film and its script which I've just completed is inspired by a headline that I saw in The Times Of India in 2006 which said, 'No One Killed Jessica'(when all the accused in the sensational case were acquitted). It immediately set me thinking. Over the years, as the case dragged on, that headline acquired immense ironical overtones." No One Killed Jessica will star two leading female performers in the age group of 27 and 30. A gritty bio-pic on Jessica Lal's murder is not the only surprise the Aamir director drops on us this week. He has also written the script for Barah Aana. Though Gupta is all for the way first-timer Raja Menon has directed his script, he admits he would film the script different. "I'd have made Barah Aana edgier, grittier and fast- paced. That's the treatment I had envisaged for the screenplay. Also it isn't clear in the film why Naseeruddin Shah's character doesn't speak. He just looks angry. The fact is the character has nothing more to say to the world. This aspect doesn't come across in the film." Also much as Gupta likes young Arjun Mathur as an actor, he thinks Mathur is a miscast as a Bihari waiter in Barah Aana. "I'd have cast someone like Deepak Dobriyal. But that's neither here nor there. Barah Aana is fine the way it is." Would Gupta write more scripts for other directors? "I don't know. Barah Aana was a commitment before I directed Aamir. Right now my concentration is on casting for No One Killed Jessica. I just hope I don't end up casting whoever is available. I need two very strong young actresses." The actresses will play Jessica and her sister who fought for justice on Jessica's behalf.

Now 'Deshdrohi 2'

Posted by Mohan Desai On 4:45 PM 0 comments
KRK continues to make news! Actor/film-maker Kamaal R. Khan [KRK], who hit front-page news when he made DESHDROHI, is now making DESHDROHI 2. While DESHDROHI dealt with the injustice meted out to North Indians in Mumbai, DESHDROHI 2 - 26/11 WAR IN MUMBAI [yes, that's the title of his new film] is about the terrorist attacks across Mumbai. The attacks, which began on 26th November and lasted until 29th November last year, drew widespread condemnation across the world.Besides KRK, DESHDROHI 2 - 26/11 WAR IN MUMBAI will co-star Priyanshu Chatterjee, Anuj Sawhney, Siddharth Koirala and Aslam Khan [NAYEE PADOSAN], who will play the role of the dreaded Pakistani terrorist Kasab. KRK faced a lot of problems during the release of DESHDROHI, is he prepared to face the heat again in DESHDROHI 2 - 26/11 WAR IN MUMBAI? "I am well aware that there would be obstacles on the way, but I am ready to face it," KRK informs me. Produced by Abhay Sinha and KRK, DESHDROHI 2 - 26/11 WAR IN MUMBAI will be directed by Sanjay Jha Mastan, who had directed PRAAN JAAYE PAR SHAAN NA JAYE in the past and is directing MUMBAI CHAKACHAK currently. The film will be launched today

The cute, bubbly and vivacious actress Ayesha Takia broke a million hearts as she tied the knot with long time boyfriend and restaurateur Farhan Azmi. The nikaah ceremony took place on Sunday, March 1, at Farhan's Colaba restaurant and was attended by only close family and friends. However, a grand reception was held at the CCI lawns yesterday (March 2) night and needless to say Bollywood made its presence felt in large numbers. Among the Bollywood bigwigs who made it to wish the couple were Abhishek & Jaya Bachchan, Sanjay & Manyata Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Raj Babbar, Dino Morea, Bharat Shah, Imtiaz Ali and Nagesh Kukunoor. Given the fact that the groom's father Abu Azmi is an active politician, a number of political heavyweight were also present on this occasion.

More than a month after its launch, 'Bachchanalia' has finally arrived on stands. Thankfully, it has been worth a wait, as one finds out after flipping though this 300 page book which could well serve as a Bible for all Amitabh Bachchan starrers. Not that it takes an almost four hour read to figure this out. Spending 15 minutes on this book is good enough to appreciate what could be expected from this brilliant compilation that is easily the best that one has laid hands on when it comes to a book about Hindi cinema. What works most in the favor of this book is its presentation. And for this, one has to credit Osian's Center for Archiving, Research and Development (CARD), which in association with Bhawana Somayaa is responsible for co-authoring the book. While Bhawana Somaaya has ensured that the text in the book makes for an interesting read, CARD is responsible for all the publicity material and memorabilia (e.g. Posters, Showcards, Lobby Cards, Trophy, Photographic Still, Song-Synopsis Booklet) which makes 'Bachchanalia' a complete reading experience. The book follows a truly inventive structure, what with a page (or a half) dedicated to each and every film that Amitabh Bachchan has done in his career. So what one sees is a poster of each of his films, some of them belonging to the rarest of the rare variety like Pyaar Ki Kahani, Raaste Ka Patthar, Bandhe Haath, Gehri Chaal and many more. This is not all as there are also innumerous unseen stills from his movies that make one turn pages with a tearing hurry. Other than the sheer visual appeal which is good enough to make one go for the book, what brings in further entertainment are the film's synopsis, a quote (either from Amitabh Bachchan or a member from the cast and crew of the film) along with trivia which is highlighted as 'Between The Shots'. In fact it's this trivia which is the most addictive of all since most of them indeed belong to 'Did You Know' variety. Icing on the cake is the write-up at the top and bottom of every page which lists down the movies (from both Bollywood and Hollywood) that made an impact in the year when a particular Bachchan film was released. Though these films may not necessarily hold any connection with a Bachchan film, for the readers who wish to keep a date with history, it acts as a good study material to explore. True to it's title, 'Bachchanalia - The Films & Memorabilia of Amitabh Bachchan' sticks to narrating facts about the films that Amitabh Bachchan has done over a period of time and never once deviates into unnecessary tangents. What this means for a reader is that gossips and other irrelevant anecdotes about his personal life are not included in the writing, hence ensuring that the book remains clean, uncontroversial and still engaging for an average reader. While writing a book about an actor who has been THE face of Indian cinema for long now, any writer would be tempted to include spicier details to make the final product more 'reader-friendly' but Bhawana Somaaya makes a smart choice and stays within the domain of the book's concept, hence justifying the USP of 'Bachchanalia', which is 'Amitabh Bachchan and his movies'. Period. A voluminous book which would easily weigh a few kilos and bears an international stamp to it, courtesy its design, layout, presentation and content, 'Bachchanalia' packs in a lot in those few words that add to the brief content on every page. Some of the most interesting ones are presented here:
Muqaddar Ka Sikandar - Prakash Mehra had envisaged the film as a modern day take on 'Devdas'
Silsila - Smita Patil and Parveen Babi were the leading ladies of the film before being replaced by Jaya Bhaduri and Rekha
Major Saab - Ajay Devgan had directed parts of the film when the original director, Tinu Anand, was off sick
Bombay To Goa - Shooting 'Dekha Na Haaye Re...' was a nightmare since Amitabh required numerous retakes
Ek Nazar - Nadira was one of the first to detect something brewing between Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri at the film's sets
Raaste Kaa Patthar - Amitabh was quite proud of his performance in this film which unfortunately didn't work
Abhimaan - The film was earlier titled Raag Ragini and Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri had invested their own money in the project
Chupke Chupke - Hrishikesh Mukherjee wanted newcomers for the parts played by Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri
Don - 'Khaike Paan Banaraswaala' was earlier recorded for a Manoj Kumar film
Shakti - Makers of the film were almost convinced to replace Smita Patil with Rekha mid-way during the film's shooting
Adalat - Amitabh Bachchan and Neetu Singh did a 'Kung-fu' dance number in the filmThere are minor factual errors in the book like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag being shown as a 2008 release (whereas the fact is that it had released in 2007), Yaar Meri Zindagi being said to be stuck (when the fact is that this Amitabh Bachchan - Shatrughan Sinha starrer, after being stuck for decades, was finally released in 2008) or reference to Fashion stating that the film was 'based' on the true story of Delhi based model Geentanjali Nagpal (when the fact is that this incident just formed a small episode in the film). However, in the bigger scheme of things when the book brings in an ocean of information with it (with a film by film account of each and every special appearance done by him along with it's poster), one can easily let such aberrations pass. Otherwise where else would one find movies like Jabaan, Charandas, Walayati Babu, Paan Khaye Saiiyan Hamar and, hold your breath, Film Hi Film (each of them starring Amitabh Bachchan in some role or other) being mentioned about in a single publication? 'Bachchanalia' is indeed special, and exclusive. A lethal combo that makes it a MUST for every cine follower who has claimed to be a follower (even if not a fan) of Amitabh Bachchan cinema. It's this very beauty of the book which makes it an irresistible read because it is not written from the point of view of a fan or a reader who could well be a fan. Instead, the book is a reference guide for each and every film that Amitabh Bachchan has done in a near four decade long career as an actor. The information which is presented is not just enlightening, it is also engaging and entertaining, and something that works in totality to make 'Bachchanalia' a book that should find a place on the shelves of every Bollywood aficionado.

The graceful Vidya Balan who turned a year older on January 1, has turned a new leaf. After her abortive attempts to revamp her wardrobe in Heyy Babyy and Kismat Konnection, Vidya has decided to go easy on the glam ramp."It's not as though I am disowning my efforts to do glamorous roles. I'm proud of Heyy Babyy and Kismat Konnection. But this year I'm doing films that don't need me to stretch my personality. I'm very happy doing roles that come naturally to me. That's what I decided about my career this year." Vidya has just given the nod to Nikhil (Chandni Chowk To China) Advani's next film which would surprise many. Advani's Chand Bhai is a raw realistic song less film on juvenile delinquency. Says Vidya, "It's nothing like the high-flying glam-wham stuff that one expects from Nikhil after Chandni Chowk. Chand Bhai is a stark very real kind of drama. And I get to co-star with a very talented actor Akshaye Khanna with whom I was in Nikhil's Salaam-e-Ishq though we had just one passing shot together." Vidya gladly admits Chand Bhai doesn't feature her in the central role. "The film revolves around the delinquent boy's character. But I'm very happy to be part of a film that addresses itself an important social issue. This year I think I'm done with searching for various by lanes to my screen identity. All my forthcoming films have a sharp sense of social purpose, and that definitely includes Vibhu Puri's Chenab Gandhi which I'm enormously excited about because it's produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali." Vidya has been attending costume and reading sessions for Chenab Gandhi and is spellbound by the script. "But I haven't really interacted that much with my co-star Hurman as yet. With Mr. Bachchan who plays the title role, I share a lifelong bonding. Right from Eklavya we've been paired in so many films right up to Chenab Gandhi and now Balki's Pa. If I did all the films last year that I was offered with Mr. Bachchan, I wouldn't be working with anyone else," says Vidya, adding she's excited to work with Abhishek Bachchan for the first time in Pa. "We've never been paired together. It would be interesting to have another interesting co-star to work with," says Vidya who went to Panchgani for her birthday this year, with her parents, sister and brother-in-law. "It's very rare for all five of us in the family to be together. My birthday falls on a very unforgettable day, the New Year. It's preceded by Christmas, so we all take time off to be together. Another advantage of being born on the first day of the year is, no one can claim to forget your birthday," she says with loud laughter. Vidya recently saw Ghajini and was bowled over by Aamir Khan. "I'm dying to work with Aamir. And Shah Rukh of course is my favourite. I said on Sajid Khan's chat show I want to kill Shah Rukh's wife. No one took me seriously. There was no enhancement in the security around her. Sad."

A.R.Rahman just couldn't have had it better. While he is on an all time high courtesy the Oscars, he is all set to put the listeners on an all-time high, by having none other than Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue to sing for his forthcoming film Blue. For the uninitiated, this film stars the dashing Akshay Kumar, dynamic Sanjay Dutt, suave Zayed Khan, along with the lovely ladies Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta! Produced under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd, Blue is supposed to be India's first 'official' underwater film! But something that promises to float for decades to come is none other than Rahman's magical wand that has now got the sensational Kylie lending her magically mystical voice to not one but two of the songs in the film. While one of the songs is a duet with the supremely talented Sonu Nigam, the other is a racy solo number for the promotional video of the film. The USP of her duet track with Sonu Nigam is that while Sonu recorded the song in Mumbai, Kylie recorded the same in London, after she got a copy of Sonu's song. How this fusion was made possible, is something that only the musical maestro A.R.Rahman can tell us! The latest news is that Kylie will be shooting for the duet song with Akshay Kumar while gyrating to ace choreographer Farah Khan's dancing instructions. It really seems like the makers of this film are leaving no stone unturned to give the film a truly international feel. After all, it's only once in a 'Blue' moon that we get to see the clubbing of such mega talents under one roof!

The bonding between Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt is getting stronger by the day. Not only has Dutt agreed to do Devgan's comedy directed by Rohit Shetty, in spite of his decision to concentrate on his newly - started political career, Dutt also decided to allot dates to Shetty's film All The Best immediately. However, the first of schedule of All The Best which was supposed to start from March 5 has been moved to March 10, leading to speculation whether there's trouble in paradise. But Dharam Oberoi, the CEO of Sanjay Dutt films quickly quells all controversy. "Before people start imagining there's a problem between Mr. Dutt and Mr. Devgan let me say the dates have been kindly re-adjusted by Mr. Devgan to accommodate the last schedule of Blue which now begins on March 1." Apparently, coordinating Sanjay's dates with Akshay Kumar for Blue has been a problem. Says Oberoi, "They're both busy artistes. Yes it has been a problem coordinating their dates. In fact the last schedule from March 1 has been arranged to accommodate Akshay Kumar because he has to leave. Ajay's film was to start on March 5. But he kindly agreed to shift forward his film to March 10 to accommodate the last schedule of Blue."

Akshay Kumar who is riding high in the industry has made news for his whopping price demand for his next film. Akshay has refused to do a film for his Mohra director Rajiv Rai unless he pays him his dues of a massive 45 crore.
Akshay has ruined Rajiv Rai’s plans of making a comeback in the industry with his friend Akshay Kumar. Now the film has been put on hold because of Akshay’s demands for 45 crore.
Akshay had initially given the film a nod and Rajiv Rai had moved from his Los Angeles home to Mumbai for the proceedings. Rajiv had also registered three titles Do or Die, To Do or Die and Heat. But when Akshaty spoke to the producer regarding the money details Rai was shocked to see Akshay demanding a percentage of the profit along with few other rights related to the film. This totaled up to nearly 45 crore. Given this the total budget of the film shot up to Rs 80 – 90 crore which the producer knew he would never recover. So Rai will not go ahead and make his dealilngs with Akshay and is now planning on making a film with Aamir Khan which will be a period film in English scripted by a Hollywood director
