According to sources from South Africa, Yuvraj Singh is believed to be more than just good friends with Mandira Bedi. Buzz is that the cricketer and the commentator have been bonding big time a couple of weeks after the Indian Premiere League took off.“They were very good friends earlier, but somewhere along the way they got too busy with their schedules and couldn’t really keep in touch,” says our source, adding that Yuvi and Mandy caught up in SA like more than just long-lost buddies. The cricketer and television hottie’s bonding hasn’t gone unnoticed. The two have even made it to the the famous ‘fakeiplplayer’ blog as the author writes, “Sometime during this tournament, the Prince and Sandy Baddy Babe have renewed their long friendship. They have been seen together in clubs, hotel lobbies and corridors having long discussions on the finer nuances of the beautiful game.” Reportedly, Prince is the blogger’s name for Yuvraj Singh while Sandy Baddy Babe is Mandira Bedi. Now this is something that isn’t too hard to believe.. since the Kings XI Punjab captain is reported to be quite a ladies’ man, considering his partying ways in Mumbai, Delhi etc. That was after he had broken up with long-time girlfriend, actress Kim Sharma.Yuvi and Kim were in a relationship for four years.. and were reportedly even considering marriage. But it is believed that his mother didn’t exactly approve of an actress bahu right from the time they committed to each other. Initially everything was hunky dory, but after a couple of years, his mother’s dominance began to show.Yuvi, who’s known to be a maa ka laadla, reportedly gave in under pressure from her.. and gradually he and Kim drifted apart, sometime in the middle of 2007. It’s believed that Yuvi used to call and SMS her till last year, but wisened a year-and-a-half since their split, Kim didn’t revert to him.

Yuvraj Singh's got a new squeeze?

Cricket stud Yuvraj Singh is perhaps one of the most eligible bachelors in the city, and is living up to that status unabashedly. While there were reports that he has gotten back with ex-girlfriend Kim Sharma, it seems like the man is in no hurry to stop exploring other options. On Wednesday night, we spotted the cricketer with three girls cheering for Manchester United while watching the Champions League finals between Man U and Barcelona at Henry Tham, Colaba.Soon, TV actor Jennifer Kotwal (Saloni of Just Mohabbat) joined him. Yuvi and she chatted for 15-20 minutes. Then Jennifer left and soon after Yuvi vanished too, leaving the three girls and pal Bunty Sachdev to watch the rest of the match. Now, should we read something more from that 'quickie' exit?We don't know. But if a guy has to dump a football match midway, there must be something special going on!

Sachin Tendulkar turns 36

Posted by Mohan Desai On 12:18 PM 0 comments

Sachin Tendulkar, arguably the biggest cricket icon of the modern era, celebrated his 36th birthday in South Africa with his IPL team Mumbai Indians and chief of Indian selectors Krishnamachari Srikanth. The Little Master has represented India for two decades, carrying the hopes of a nation, and done it with grace and class. A teenage prodigy, Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai and made his Test debut against Pakistan as a curly-haired 16-year-old, becoming the youngest Indian Test player. Tendulkar was made the icon player and captain for his home side, the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Indian Premier League
Twenty20 competition in 2008 for a sum of US$1,121,250. Sachin will retun to the field as he takes his team to face the Deccan Chargers on Saturday (April 25).

Fake IPL Player

Who is the "Fake IPL Player" afterall ?

For SRK’s Kolkata Knight Rider’s, things seem to be going from bad to worse. Since the talk began about IPL season 2, KKR was the one which was the most talked about team, partly because of SRK and hugely because of its Controversies, the multiple captaincy strategy. Finally the multiple captaincy idea was put aside making Brendon McCullum as the single captain of the team. Just when things were seemed to be settled in KKR and time has come to prove their popularity on the field, enter’s the so claimed Fake IPL Player. He claims to be from the Kolkata Knight rider’s team and makes some witty remarks on Sourav Ganguly. Writing a post on April 19 after the team meeting, he described Ganguly as ‘Lord Almighty’ and said that his [edited] experience would be used in the middle order.

He says

“Just out of the team meeting held in the Coach’s suite. Skipper did most of the talking. He is opening with the Calypso King. Lord Almighty is at No. 3. Some [edited] about using his experience to guide the middle order, similar to what the other 2 of the troika did yesterday. Lord sat there straight faced. Didn’t say much. Didn’t smile at all. I was standing at one corner straight across the Lord. And given my height and stature I can go quite unnoticed. I was observing the Lord carefully, each twitch of his eyes, every movement of his thumb, his gaze. He is very unhappy and uncomfortable. Being treated like this in front of his bachchas“.

Though the authenticity of him being a player in KKR is questionable, the facts which he posts in his blog seems to be true.People suspect that it might be Akash Chopra but in yesterdays blog post, he said that his name was not in the playing XI against Kings XI Punjab to be played on Tuesday. Is this a publicity stunt by an anonymous ambitious blogger? All in all, who is the man behind the blog remains a mystery. Probably, SRK, the DON should enter the scene now and say some dialogues

WILL SHILPA WIN IPL-2 ??

Posted by Mohan Desai On 11:24 AM 0 comments

Its really big question that who will win IPL2... For first ipl sesion RAJASTHAN ROYAL is winer. In first sesion of ipl no one have expactation from Rajasthan because there is no big player in the team and there is no any celibrite with them for first sesion of IPL. but they win and Rajasthan royal prove that there are winer. After that silpa sheety is joined Rajasthan Royal. Now Royals have celibrite with them.

SRK says sorry to Gavaskar

Posted by Mohan Desai On 12:49 PM 0 comments

Bollywood superstar and principal owner of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Shah Rukh Khan, who had hit out at Sunil Gavaskar for the former India captain’s criticism of the multiple captains theory, has now apologised to the legendary batsman.
“I have not said anything against Gavaskar. I just wanted to have breathing space to try something new. I have sent him an apology letter because he was in America that time,” Shah Rukh said before his departure for South Africa on Monday night.
He said: “Due to the wonderful methodology that television applies, that comment was for people who don’t understand cricket and who are still telling me how to run the team.
“If Gavaskar asks me to walk on my head and run the team, I would. Anything that Gavaskar says that has to do with cricket, if he mentions, should be followed,” the actor said.
Shah Rukh said the controversy had hurt him.
“People are making comments without understanding what the concept of multiple captaincy is,” he said.
The Knight Riders team owner’s apology comes a couple of days after cricket manager John Buchanan had reacted to Gavaskar’s criticism.
Suggesting Buchanan’s multiple-skipper theory did not deserve comment, the former India captain had written in his syndicated column “…he has wangled for his Queensland pals and former teammates lucrative jobs with the franchise… The owners, poor souls, probably have little idea of how they are being milked”.
Buchanan refused to comment when the controversy broke, but changed his mind a few days later. “There were always people who were more than willing to put the knife in, and the fact that I never played Test cricket was simmering in the background of these digs, particularly by a select few,” Buchanan was quoted as saying by a South African newspaper. “I never shook the feeling that the axe was always hovering,” he added.

Bollywood hits cricket for a six!

Somebody ought to tell producer-director, ad-filmmaker and cricket aficionado Ajit Pal Mangat that next time he’s making a sports film, he needn’t go shopping for international stars.Like Brett Lee, Graeme Smith, Harbhajan Singh, Muthiah Murlitharan and Shoaib Malik all over the world… he’s got the looks, the attitude and experience before and behind the camera to star in his own home production.
But, Ajit Pal will argue, not in a film like Victory… his debut as director, which is India’s first full-fledged sports film for which he roped in 60 ‘A’ grade cricketers including the players mentioned earlier. “I wanted to cast players from all the 11 cricket playing nations of the world but I felt short… I felt I was on the cricket selection committee,” admitted Ajit Pal. “Drawing up the list wasn’t tough; but ensuring the cricket stars remain stars, was. Due to various formats of the game, cricket has a new star every day; Yuvraj is announced the best 20-20 batsman, Dhoni is the best ODI captain… there’s a different hero in a different format. It was a hell of a task.”
Lest you think Ajit Pal is giving you a Bollywood film on cricket, let us tell you Victory also stars the rugged Harman Baweja and gorgeous Amrita Rao; and yes, the film does display man’s true passion for cricket and is due to release on January 30. Cricketing shots were taken during an actual live Indo-Australia match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, they were shot in 18 different stadiums around the world with 50,000 genuine spectators, and acting as commentators in the film are Allan Border, Michael Slater, Harsha Bhogle, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Waquar Younis and umpire Daryl Harper. It cannot get more authentic than this. Aussie paceman Brett Lee, who plays a significant role, said, “This is the best script I have read on a sports film.” Harbhajan, who is most comfortable before the camera, is already being asked if he is playing the lead in a sequel to Victory. “I don’t mind, if the money is right,” the Team India spin attack bowler said.
