And getting the rustic colloquialism right is a cakewalk for him For Katrina dubbing is the most difficult part of the acting process. After all she was initially dubbed by professional artistes. She finally won the right to speak on screen in her own voice in spite of a thick British accent.And now Katrina Kaif is going through the worst tribulation of her brief career.Dubbing for Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is the most challenging thing Katrina has ever done.“I don’t have any colloquial lines like Ranbir. I play this Catholic Bandra girl who’s very dramatic. She’s funny to others. But not to herself.So when I cry I have to cry real tears but make sure they come across as funny First of all the lines are not comic in the dubbing theatre. So I’ve to recreate the laughter on the sets in a studio without knowing if I am being funny enough.”For Katrina it’s excruciating. “I don’t know whether I’m getting it right or not. I’m doing the dubbing under supervision. But this is the most difficult film I’ve dubbed for.”Now that she’s almost finished dubbing she plans to go through the entire dubbing in Santoshi’s film and re-do the portions Santoshi isn’t satisfied with.A bigger challenge now awaits Katrina. In Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti she must recreate all the rhetorics that she mouthed on stage in front of thousands of spectators. as a female politician.“The speeches I made have been taped. Now I have to listen to them, get the accent tone and voice quality right and dub in a studio.”Easier done than said. .

The 24-year-old actress, whose earnings support her family of seven sisters, said there are times when she feels that she needs the money being offered to do a particular film. “I am in a panic situation. But, If I succumb to such pressures, I know the audience will not respect me,” said Katrina.Katrina, who made her debut in Bollywood with box-office disaster Boom has not looked back since finding success with Akshay Kumar starrer Namaste London. I attribute this little achievement to the India Shining movement which the world is so high on now. And also because I am Anil Kapoor’s daughter,” said the actress whose classic beauty was one of the reasons the magazine selected her.This is the first time an Indian talent has been acknowledged in a western trade platform. “It’s very encouraging for youngsters like me and a great platform for any actor,” said Sonam.Her own Gen Next idol is Natalie Portman, the Israeli-American actress of the Star Wars prequel trilogy and other films like Closer, Where The Heart Is. “The way she has handled her life and career fascinates me. Director Ken Ghosh , along with the whole crew of his tentatively titled film Yahoo was in Bandstand Fort, Bandra, to shoot for the first look of the movie. It was evening time and Shahid Kapur and Genelia were supposed to shoot a cozy scene. Shooting at a popular place generally has many onlookers. All was fine but when Genelia stepped out, donning a sensuous mini skirt, the crowd started to increase and in a jiffy people went bananas, making it impossible to control them. Cops finally suggested director Ken Ghosh to stop the shooting.Attempts were made to cover Genelia with a jeans, but all in vain. Many even crossed the limits and were standing in danger zone. The whole Bandra fort had people thronging to get a glimpse of Genelia in mini skirt. Chief Creative Officer of UTV Motion pictures has confirmed the news and is quoted as saying, “Yes it was a very scary sight and people were all over the fort.” A few days back something like this happened with actress Neetu Chandra who was shooting for a photo shoot of a magazine in a lavish hotel of Juhu where a crowd of 80 gathered around the pool to see the skimpily dressed actress striking provocative poses with a female model. The shoot got cancelled because the mob was getting aggressive. Some even started to pass lewd comments. And the situation spun out of control.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty celebrated her 34th birthday yesterday and making the day special for her was her boyfriend Raj Kundra. Raj threw a surprise birthday party for Shilpa and present on the occasion was her sister Shamita Shetty who flew all the way from India to be with Shilpa on her special day. Says a family friend, "Shamita and Raj have been planning the bash for a month. Nobody in Mumbai was allowed to talk to Shilpa as they did not want the secret to be out. However, when Rekha heard about this, she called the concerned officials and got the title of the award changed to Pratibha Gaurav Puraskar.She said that a lifetime achievement award is given to a person who has completed all the work in his career, while she still has a lot of work to do!The award ceremony will be held in Pune on May 30, and will be graced by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and the Deputy Chief Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal.Incidentally, Aamir Khan, one of people Rekha loves to hate and vice versa, will also be receiving an award at the same event.
