First of all because of its release, and secondly, because it will be out in Multiplexes! “I am as starved as the audiences are and I am looking forward to having doughnuts and pop corn while watching a movie. I am excited to watch all the movies. People are dying to go to the cinema halls. Actually so much loss has incurred during this last 1 and half month. The film fraternity is in a crisis. of this year — Bride Wars, starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. In its official Bollywood remake, the film will be one big fat Punjabi wedding with plenty of colour, song and dance, drama, fireworks, the whole nine yards.Shrishti Behl — director Goldie’s sister, who produced Drona last year, is the Bollywood filmmaker contacted to work on this project. Confirming her participation, Shristi said, “The days of plagiarism are over. Official remakes are the way to go. And Bride Wars lends itself beautifully to an Indian adaptation.”That it does, but there is likely to be a war among the six top contenders for the two roles in this film. The Hollywood studio, unmindful of the fact that these are the biggest names in Bollywood, is going to conduct a test look to pick their two actresses. Its worldwide production head Stanford Pinatch, talking to BT, said, “We’re trying to produce local-language films all over the world. We’re using the synergy between our distribution operations in all of these territories and tying up with the local production division. There is a shift in the market towards local content. It validates what we’re trying to achieve with these projects.”Bride Wars, a regular chick flick if there was one, is about a good friendship between two women that goes dangerously bad. And, it will be interesting to see if real life good friends in Bollywood team up for the Hindi remake or the permutations and combinations throw up other alternatives.The twosomes that come to mind are Katrina and Kareena; Priyanka and Kareena (Shahid Kapoor’s past and present loves, respectively); Asin and Katrina (Salman’s lady love and, well, his co-star who’s currently linked with him); and, Sonam and Deepika (in whose life the common factor is Ranbir Kapoor).

Kareena has received as many as four awards in the last one month.And she loves it “Who doesn’t like attention, recognition and awards? I’ve got four awards in a month beginning with the environment award I got from Erin Brockovich, then two youth icon awards from Rotary International and Stardust. And now on Tuesday I was honoured by FICCI which Mr Yash Chopra gave to me.”Kareena is running out space to keep the trophies. “ My mother gets exasperated each time I bring home another trophy. Saif wants to know where I’m going to keep all of them. I’ve set aside a whole enclave for trophies and awards. I love looking at them. One day my children are going to look at them and be proud of me.”For children to happen Kareena first needs to get married. “It won’t happen for the next two years for sure. Am I crazy to get married now when so many wonderful things are happening to my career? Saif himself is ultra-busy trying to set up his production house. Marriage can wait. I’m just happy to have him by my side. I’ve got the best guy any girl can ever have. Right now I’m so busy I don’t have time to sleep properly. I love my fans and awards.” And now Delhi will have to be fudged in the Mumbai schedule of d’Silva’s film. The extent of the surging crowds in Delhi in the key shooting spots like Jama Masjid and Janpath for Rensel D’Silva’s untitled film was so huge and unmanageable that the unit has returned without shooting the required sequences. Back in Mumbai after a week of futile shooting Kareena says, “ Everywhere we went there were these huge number of people who had come to see Saif and me. They were very sweet very well-behaved. But unfortunately the number of people in key places like Jama Masjid and Janpath was always too high to shoot properly.”Resultantly there was almost no shooting.Says Kareena, “We did can some shots. But it was impossible to shoot with wide-angle lenses because the crowds were everywhere. We’ll now have to recreate some of the Delhi sequences in Mumbai.”Kareena is certainly not unhappy about the attention she got in Delhi. “The people in Delhi were so warm. It just made me realize how much of a responsibility I have towards my audience. At this stage of my career I’d rather take another holiday than do a bad film.”KAREENA KAPOOR:
If you thought 2008 was the year of Kareena Kapoor then wait till you hear what’s in store for this stunner in 2009. “For starters, ” she begins as she packs for her much-awaited week-long vacation in Europe with Saif Ali Khan, “I’ll finally be moving into my new home in January. It’s just a hop and skip away from where I stay on Hill Road in Bandra. I can’t give up being close to my mom and living in Bandra.”The home in a building called Queen will also have a new apartment for Kareena’s mother. “Of course my mother is moving with me. I can’t live breathe or take one step without my mother. The only difference is she’ll now have a separate apartment. But we’re still on the same floor.”As for the home that Saif is preparing for the two of them, Kareena shrugs, “That won’t be ready for another two years. That’s how long it’s going to be before we get married anyway. Right now my diary is filled up till 2010. There’s no space for even a runaway marriage.”Kareena has in fact decided to gift her mom much more than just a new home. She has made her mom a New Year promise.“No more bikini shots for me. I mean I’m very happy with the kind of attention and adulation I got for getting into a bikini in Tashan. And I wasn’t uncomfortable wearing it. Why should I be? I’ve the physique to carry it off. But that’s it. My mother didn’t like me in a bikini. Also the kind of work that I’m doing now in 3 Idiots or Renzil d’Silva’s film doesn’t require that kind of exposure.”With her super-star daughter being extremely busy with her career and Saif, mom Babita has a lot of time on hand. “She now does a lot of charity work with charitable institutions like the Mount Mary Old Age Home in Bandra and other places. She’s a very giving woman. I should know. She scarificed her own career and joys to bring up my sister and me.”Not too many people know Babita is half-Christian.Reveals Kareena, “Her mother was a Christian and father a Sindhi. So we are as fond of the church as we’re of the temple. Christmas is a big event for us.That’s why I needed to rush home at this time from Philadelphia to be home for Christmas before taking off for my holiday.” Surprisingly Kareena is full of praise for her supposed arch-rival Priyanka Chopra. “I don’t know why so much is made of our rivalry. We’re in totally difference spaces. She does her own films. I do mine. Whenever we meet she’s really sweet to me. I don’t understand why we’re made out to be two squabbling sirens. Please, we’re grownup women.”As far as conducting a career goes Kareena’s role- model is Aishwarya Rai. “I love the way she carries herself and the roles she’s choosing after marriage. I’d like to follow that pattern when I get married.”But that’s a long way off. At the moment Kareena is just happy being with Saif. “He may appear to be very volatile and undecided, just like me. But actually he takes all the right decisions on my behalf. He’s totally into his books while I love films. I keep him clued in to what’s happening in the industry.Right now we both want to see Ghajini before we leave for our holiday. We’re both Aamir fans. After Ghajini I think the next film Saif will see will be my 3 Idiots. And this time it won’t be for Aamir.”

Real-life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are going to share some intimate moments in their untitled film directed by Renzil D'Silva for Dharma Productions.According to uncomfirmed sources, Saif and Bebo shot for their kiss, which was part of a song, in a studio.
