Every time an A-list actor builds his body much noise is made about how he got his six and eight packs.We did not hear much about it, so we were rather surprised to see Shahid Kapur sporting a shirtless look and a chiseled body on a poster of his latest film “Kaminey”.Shahid is playing a double role in the film, and the body is for the character of Charlie, who needs to look tough, mean and strong.Apparently, Shahid went through advanced training for almost eight months to get this physique. He trained for two hours a day, five days a week.According to his trainer Abbas Ali, the focus was on form, speed and power. “For a running shot in ‘Kaminey’ where Shahid had to run shirtless, my aim was to make him look like a sprinter, not an actor," he said.Shahid is a strict vegetarian, so the diet required to build the physique was a challenge.“We followed a diet of high carbs, moderate proteins and moderate good fats. We removed maida [flour] from his diet and gave him muesli, oats and protein shakes. He was not allowed any sugar and oil. He had to eat at the right time and in right combinations," said Abbas.

The chapter with Barbara Mori caused quite some damage in Hrithik’s life, it has left a bitter feeling from all sides in his family. As for Suzanne, Hrithik has won her trust back and things are leveled on the emotional front too. But the handsome hunk could not mend matters with his dad Rakesh Roshan.They say Rakesh was partly responsible for the tension Suzanne and Hrithik went through. Hrithik has decided to live independently and keep some distance from his dad.It seems Rakesh Roshan does interfere with Hrithik’s decisions. When he wanted to build his muscles for a new ad, Rakesh Roshan stopped Hrithik from doing so as his next film requires a thin Hrithik. While Hrithik thought it would be good to walk the red carpet at Cannes with his co-star Barbara, his dad insisted on the fact that he should take Suzanne for the same.Hrithik, who has been living with his wife and kids at his dad’s place has decided to move out. He basically wants to live on his own terms. One of the sources said to the media: "Now they`ve finally settled for a huge plot situated on 11th road, Juhu. It is in the same lane as Dharmendra`s bungalow. On the plot in discussion stands an old three- storied building called Husman. The Roshans will demolish the structure and will erect a bungalow in its place. The Husman building is nearly 15,000 sq ft. The deal has cost Roshan Jr nearly Rs 45 crore".

Friend, mentor, excellent human being and real royal of Hindi cinema - that is how Bollywood remembers Feroz Khan, the filmmaker-actor who died after a year-long battle with cancer.Writer-turned director Anees Bazmee, who directed Feroz Khan in his last film "Welcome" in 2007, is "heartbroken" to hear of the death."I have come back to Mumbai this morning and got to know about his death. It is very sad and I am heartbroken. He was very close to me and an extremely good human being. I used to be in regular touch with him," Bazmee told IANS."Welcome", which was a massive hit, was a special homage to Feroz Khan's stylish on-screen persona through his character Ranbir Dhanraj Xata (RDX)."Nobody knows that he was not willing to work in 'Welcome' but he loved my previous film 'No Entry' and Fardeen's (Feroz Khan's son) role in it so much that we became very good friends and he agreed to work in the film just for me."But he also asked me to make sure that his style was kept intact in the movie, as he has always done roles with oomph and glamour and that's why I even gave him a line 'Abi hum zinda hain' in the film, which he infused life into," said Bazmee.Beauty queen-turned-actress Celina Jaitley, who was launched by Feroz Khan in his home production's "Janasheen" (2003), headed to Bangalore on Monday to pay her last respects."Farewell my friend, my mentor... He did not just go for established names, which was a great thing in him," said Anand."He gave me confidence when he signed me for 'Janasheen' and now we were working together on the remake of 'Qurbani', but it is so unfortunate what has happened," he added.Said scriptwriter Pandey, who wrote the dialogues for "Janasheen": "He was one of the royals of our cinema. Everyone knows how to make money, but very few know how to spend it and he knew that style exactly. He was an excellent friend, a great human being and he used to treat people very well."He also enjoyed good writing a lot. He was someone who had his own personality. The way he shot his films, his music, everything was great. He also looked for new talent," he added.Feroz Khan is survived by actor son Fardeen, 35, and daughter Laila Rajpal.

Though the Supreme Court has ruled that Dutt cannot contest, he has been appointed General Secretary to the party so he can stay close to politics and campaign for them.And the actor is pulling out all the stops for the campaign. On a recent visit to Bihar, he brought out his Munnabhai avatar from his hit films Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai. He even addressed the crowds with dialogues from the movies. A source present, says, “He was on full swing and used his famous dialogues from Munnabhai to drive the crowd crazy. The actor was quite efficient in engaging the masses.”Sanjay even compared the potential voters to Circuit, his sidekick played by Arshad Warsi, from the Munnabhai series. The source adds, “The line of his speech which had the most effect was when he said, ‘In my film I had one Circuit but here, I can see a thousand Circuits, who have come to support me and SP. It’s nice to see a lot of affection and though I am not contesting this time, I hope to the next time’.”His exact words were: "Munnabhai mein sirf ek Circuit tha. Yahan par jitne hazaron log maujood hain, saare mere Circuit hain."Sanjay was meant to contest for the Samajwadi Party in Lucknow. His ambition of emulating his father and sister by going to the Lok Sabha was shattered on March 31 when the Supreme Court ruled that he could not contest since he had been convicted in the 1993 bomb blasts case. Sanjay was convicted by an anti-terror court for possessing a prohibited weapon.

Come Holi and festivity is all around in the air. One can visualise thandai (without bhang hopefully), gujhiya, colours, sweets and
namkeen, but what rules the roost are Holi songs
. Amazingly, when it comes to Holi songs, our very Big B, who hails from Allahabad, is the king! Dont't believe me? Ask anyone for a Holi song and they start with `Holi khele Raghubeera Awadh mein' from the movie Baghban. Here Amitabh Bachchan, portraying a father of four grown-up sons and a grandfather of two, teases and plays Holi with his gorgeous wife Hema Malini in the movie giving the message that age is no bar to play holi! Ask for another song and there comes `Rang barse'. Totally an Aby Baby's number with his characteristic dance movements, it was rated as the immortal Holi song for the last two decades until the recent `Holi khele Raghubeera'. Even today it can be easily ranked at number two (that too because the younger generation has taken to the recent song) - there can be no Holi celebration without this song. Remember Gabbar Singh? Of course and the song `Holi ke din dil mil jaate hain' in the blockbuster Sholay. The song has beautifully captured the spirit of Holi through the graceful and playful movements of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, even as the surcharged emotions of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya, who plays a widow in the movie, are portrayed poignantly in plain white colour. King khan too doesn't lag behind in Holi revelry. Be it the Holi song in the 1993 flick Darr or the `soni soni akhiyo wali' from Mohabbatein, Shah Rukh Khan regaled us all. But, do you know that Bollywood has even given a song for Holi in English? Remember `Waqt', where Akshay Kumar requests his pregnant wife Priyanka Chopra with song `Do me a favour, let's play Holi.. rango me mili hai pyar ki boli'. So now husbands know another way to persuade their wives to play colours with them! Early 70's witnessed the then superstar Rajesh Khanna in many a Holi songs. Aaj na chodenge bus humjoli, khalege hum holi from Kati Patang (1971) where he woos Asha Parekh and encourages her to let Holi colours brighten her life, is still vividly etched in our memory. Holi aaye re, a common refrain by the dholwalas on Holi, is actually a song from an old movie with the same name Holi Aaye Re. But this can not be categorised as the first song on Holi from Bollywood. Memory takes one way back to the song - Holi aaye re kanhayee rang barse suna de jara...from film Mother India with Rajendra Kumar and Sunil Dutt playing with colours. Another song that should not be missed a mention is `Arey jare hat natkhat' from the film Navrang. An interesting song based on Holi by Sandhya, the actress of yesteryears, where she plays the role of both the male and female characters with amazing swiftness. From streets to bylanes, apartments to bunglows one can hear all these numbers being played on loud speakers and people dancing to their tunes. Many Bollywood songs based on bhang, which is specially associated with Holi, too are played. `Jai Jai Shiv Shankar' from Aap Ki Kasam may not be a Holi song but is as intoxicating as the colours and bhang hangover. Also, the song Nadiya se dariya from Namak Haram too showed the aftermath effect of eating bhang. Certain other not so popular tracks on Holi would include Koi bheega hai rang se (Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost), Mal de gulal mohe, aaye holi aaye re (Kaamchor), Apne rang mein rang de mujko (Aakhir Kyon), Aayee re aayee re holi (Zakhmee), Phagun aayo re (Phagun), Tan rang lo ji aaj mann rang lo (Kohinoor), O dekho Holi aayi (Mashaal) and Rang di preet ne rang di (Dhanwan). Apart from these songs from Bollywood, many regional songs too come to mind. This includes many songs in Awadhi, bhojpuri and other regional languages. But the regional song that has captured the imagination with everyone singing and dancing to it is none other than 'holiya mein ude re gulal...aayo re...' Thus, it is time to gear up with your musical instruments. Even a dhol (or table) would suffice. Don the colourful Holi cap to play, sing, dance and enjoy. To all there...Happy Holi!
