No touching, please, says Preity

Posted by Mohan Desai On 2:28 PM 0 comments

Preity Zinta who’s in South Africa with her cricket team is cool as a cucumber most of the time. But when people whom she barely even knows get familiar with her, she finds it hard to take. Though she’s most charming, sweet and often genteel with fans, Zinta likes to keep a wee bit of distance. She tells us, “I am fine with people posing with me for pictures, but what I don’t like is when some put their hand around my waist or shoulders! When you don’t know someone too well, it gets awkward and this is something I just don’t like.” So next time you try to put your arm around this lady, remember touching is touché.

Its official: Preity breaks up with Ness

Posted by Mohan Desai On 12:53 PM 2 comments

Speculation is now ripe that Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia are having a real trouble in their paradise. An E-mail sent by Preity to her team clears the cloud that the couple is no longer into any kind of personal relationship and is linked up only professionally. Preity being very straight forward and outspoken clears the air to her team members as they were in utter confused state as what kind of relationship she is presently sharing with Ness. She does not want her boys to get distracted by any issue and wanted them to concentrate on the game only.More Preity is acting smart about her relationship with the Bombay Dying scion, the more Ness is hesitant to call it a quit. He informed his parents and brother that he and Preity are currently on a short break but trying to sort out the differences.Preity is totally keeping distance from Ness. The camaraderie between them is seen missing this time and the couple is staying apart. While Ness has rented a service apartment, Priety is staying in the same hotel where Shahrukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty are staying. How sad to say that another high profile liaison has gone kapu

Simon Cowell’s NBC show “America’s Got Talent” is finally making its way to India but has yet not found an appropriate host. The channel launching it in India wants a glamorous face to host this show.Preity was supposed to do the show and both the parties had almost worked out the agreement but as she was to get busy with IPL, Preity did not take up the project.Later, Aishwarya was approached with the same project and was offered five crore rupees but she too refused stating date problems. We wonder whether it is really the lack of time or these ladies are just scared to host a talent show on TV.

Preity sets an example for fellow citizens

Preity Zinta will be traveling all the way from South Africa to India just to take one day off to vote. According to the actor, she is doing this just to set an example for her fellow citizens. "I know that the IPL schedule will hardly allow us time to breathe but I will come back India just to vote," says Preity. "It doesn't matter if I am only able to spend one day in Mumbai, but I will be here on the day of voting," she added.
According to Preity, voting is a right that everybody should exercise and it should always be an informed choice. "I have always been saying that it's a right that everybody should exercise. It is us who will have to choose the correct people to represent us," she says.
According to sources, Congress had always wanted Preity to campaign for them in these elections. They even wanted to approach her to field her as a candidate in her hometown constituency against Anurag Thakur, son of Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. But, as she says, Preity is not interested in entering politics at all!
Who's the boss?At a recent event, Yuvraj Singh was heard saying that his boss Preity Zinta was the real captain of the team (Kings XI Punjab) and he is just her deputy

Preity's birthday party irks residents

Posted by Mohan Desai On 12:11 PM 0 comments
Mumbai Police played party pooper at Bollywood actress Preity Zinta's birthday bash after slum-dwellers in the neighbourhood complained of loud music on Sunday morning.
A police patrol team 'called on' Zinta's flat in Quantum Park building in Bandra and ordered them to turn down the volume of the loudspeakers following complaints from other residents in the area, around 2 a.m., an official of Khar police station told IANS.
The police official said that the actress will be penalised as per the provisions for flouting noise pollution rules. A local resident, Irfan Shaikh, said that very loud music was played in the party, which started late Saturday and continued till the early hours on Sunday.
"Whenever there is music or programmes in the slum areas, these people in big buildings complain against us and we have to shell out large fines. We also get disturbed and so we complained to the police," he told media persons here on Sunday morning.
Shaikh claimed that initially the police did not respond to their calls for help. It was only after repeated pleas that they intervened, he said, adding that soon after the police left, the volume was again turned full blast. It is understood that other Bollywood bigwigs, including Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Chunky Pandey and others were present at the birthday bash.
